There you are, peering over your bead basket....or standing in your workshop. All sorts of cool things all around you, but you're in a rut. You seem to gravitate to the same old designs over and over again. You're blocked!
Go outside, get some sunshine. Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy! Who said that? It's a song! So maybe....listen to some music. Beautiful music. Funny music. Disco!
Is it raining?
Take a walk in the rain. Pick a flower.
Look at the flower like you've never seen a flower before. Look at in light, look at it in shadow. Check out the petals, how they are formed, how they fit all together.
You can even get silly with it. Nature has a sense of humor, too, and you might lighten up. Maybe you NEED to lighten up! Don't take your art so seriously.
The greatest inspiration is the world around us, the greatest Artist is God. Pay attention to nature, be awed by it, the play of light on a summer path, the amazing variety of color in birds, flowers, foliage. Pause to think of how a drop of water magnifies the veins of a leaf underneath it. That's better than an art bubble or lens any day....but maybe having a close look will inspire you to do something new and NOVEL....with an art bubble or lens.
When you look at a component, think not of what it is, but what it might BECOME in your hands. It can become whatever you wish it to be.......
