Our move to a brick and mortar store 'happened' incrementally; I got the key July 1 for a really SWEET little building, and we began to make all the arrangements for utilities, internet, new office furniture....you name it.
B'sue Boutiques began in 1987 on a wing and a prayer. I was a cleaning lady with a baby and I needed a way out of the cleaning business. Totally unfulfilled, I turned to the antiques business and began to pick jewelry for upscale shops, selling my wares through the pages of THE ANTIQUE TRADER WEEKLY.
In time, I decided to make my OWN jewelry. So I cobbled around and taught myself how, developing a line based on brass findings, vintage buttons, and watch parts. By 1993 I went wholesale with a 300 piece line and by 1995 we had 500 store accounts....and I was still picking vintage jewelry on the side!
By 1997 I came online, have had my own website ever since.
By 1999, I shut down the line to concentrate on making one of a kinds and selling supplies.......and the supply business grew. It was blood, sweat and tears for sure. There has been nothing easy about developing a business like this, but it was born from a need and a dream. So....somehow, we kept it alive by hard work and the desire to make people happy.
We never saw need to work anywhere but here at home until recently. An opportunity presented itself, and there was a need for more room to grow....so off we went!
The move took place over the weekend, and we are back at work shipping orders already! There will be a video soon.....meantime....
