Francesca Watson is an amazing metal artist.
She herself says that her most favorite things to do usually involve hammers, torches, rocks....and jewelry making.
I find Francesca fascinating because her creative path is completely different than my own. We both make jewelry, but my 'bent' is vintage inspired/mixed media....hers is metal, metal, and more metal with a more contemporary, clean vibe.
Francesca began making jewelry in 2007....and as she admits, has slowly been turning her house into a studio ever since.
Well, maybe now she can just *quit* that. Or have two studios!
Read the story right here:
The first part tells about her getting to take a class with Richard Salley. Sigh.
That's pretty big.
The second tells about Roadhouse Arts Studio and Gallery. This is HUGE. It's a new endeavor she's taking on with two partners who are as knee-deep into making art as she is.
The space looks mighty fine for the intended purpose:
The guys have been working hard on it:
I will never forget the journey that led me to my very own space or those who supported and helped me. It was an intense but delightful time in my creative life! So...when I hear someone else has come to that certain fork in the road, and taken the right turn...well, I just have to rejoice.
You can check out the classes and more on the process here:
The plan is to open beginning of next year. Roadhouse Arts is in Bulverde, Texas....close to San Antonio.
Did I hear somebody holler, "ROAD TRIP?"
