Here in the workshop, Javi has been experimenting with memory wire to make a simple bracelet.
Rather than make continuous loops, she thought it might be interesting to explore more of a bangle style, putting a toggle at one side for easy on and off, and comfort of wear.
This was the first one made. The clasp is very inexpensive, the wire negligible, and the bead strand was around 4.50. It took about 20 minutes to make; we figured considering her time and the materials, and then, too, taking into account the area in which we live, this bracelet should sell for about 15.00 to 18.00.
She made another with beaded pearls. These were pre-made, bought on a strand, on sale, so there was no time into making them, and they, too, were inexpensive.
A bride-to-be just walked into the shop and ALMOST bought it just a little bit ago. My feeling is that she will return and get it. She just couldn't decide if it was right for her dress.
There is nothing like the validation of a sale---or at least, someone's interest in a piece!--to keep a new young designer going!
Next, Javi experimented with some more bling beads along with some Czech glass in rich colors:
She wanted to put the little sapphire blue SWA rondelles in between all the beads. I helped her to understand that while the rondelles give value to the piece, it would be better to use just a *few* in the front to give emphasis to her design, rather than using so many, all along the way. That would help her get the look she wants while keeping price more under control.
And here is Javi, modeling one of the finished bracelets!
That's the one we almost sold this afternoon! I'll betcha that lady will be back for it.
Very pretty! I think Javi will do well with her bracelets.

Javi, you are beautiful. Just saying. Love your smile. :)
Also, using memory wire for bracelets like this is sheer genius imho. I bet it's a lot easier to close the clasp on these than on bracelets made with jewelry wire, because these hold their shape. Need to keep that in mind. And find my memory wire. >>
