Hi Sue! This blog really speaks to me as I am right there in the same boat-I just joined the party a tad too late (but may just work along side you unofficially, lol). I am also stuck deciding if I should change my name & logo-pros & cons for both!
Having retired from the accounting & customer service industry, I began working with beads for over 7 years now, learning every technique that appealed to me and doing costume jewelry repairs, custom orders, & selling a few pieces mostly at Christmas time. I started feeling like I was just doing piecework to everyone else's taste but really none had much of my flavor. Sales fell off and I always felt like I was chasing the latest trends without much to show for it. Plus I kept feeling like I needed to do more for my "brand" like packaging & more marketing, especially social media.
I finally just stopped, got my supplies organized, weeded out the beads & findings I am no longer in love with. I have also viewed several videos of yours and was inspired to place an order. I have a lovely raw brass stamping & filigree collection hoarded already, but you have some gorgeous pieces I haven't seen elsewhere along with some lovely finishes I am looking forward to working with.
Keep up the good work & I will be following along!
