I am surely glad there was no judged portion for the Vintage Flair Challenge/B'sue Boutiques Creative Group September work theme!
Everything uploaded by participants to our Pinterest page was outstanding.
But just to whet your appetite to come and look at the page, I'm going to step out a few photos in this post.
The first photo above is a swingin' pair of long drop ears that speak of the 60's, back to the Twiggy and Veruschka (super models of the time) days, Pucci and Andre Courreges dresses. Made by Monica Rangne.

Courreges did mini dresses; Pucci is credited for the advent of the maxi dress and reknowned for his splashy prints.
Here is a great figural brooch from Pamela Anger, Novegatti Designs:
See how she used the heart sideways to craft a fish.....blowing bubbles. Mounts were crafted for some of the stones with polymer clay. This piece is amazing.
Brooches were key in fashion style all through the 20th century but fell off a bit in the 90's when jewelry design went from over the top glam in the 80's to sleek and spare....or even bare, no jewelry.
Shari Gardner's earrings remind me much of vintage 70's-80's 1928 jewelry company.
The hearts she used are made in Germany and you can buy them here:

The ceramic flowers are actually FROM old 1928 stock and you can buy them here:

Karen Eaton's design had a touch of Haskell-type seed beading, something our group is becoming intensely interested in:
Amazing work done by everyone.....
I only stepped out a few where I could think of a direct vintage designer correlation, but all of the work was vintage inspired, as all was made in part, with products from B'sue Boutiques
We specialize in the vintage look at our website. There is always an homage to the work that has gone before us and a knowledge of construction methods, placement and the pieces used in the work. At the Creative Group we specialize in mixed media, colorization and assemblage with direct links to the past.
Our best inspiration comes from vintage designers who used the very pieces and parts we are still using.
Why don't you come and join us?
This month's challenge is COLORS OF FALL. Participants will craft a substantial piece of jewelry in autumn colors and they can take their style and theme any place they wish....so long as fall colors are in focus.
Get out those paints and patinas! I love the INKA GOLDS mixed with PRIMARY ELEMENTS.....you get the most gorgeous colors! And the media dries very fast....
Here is a video:
Linda Caudle of Vintage Diva has her piece up for October already....and it's gorgeous:
What will you make?

I think my WIP bead necklace will be perfect for the fall challenge - assuming I can get it done on time!

I sure love the fish. Especially the bubbles. It reminds me of a Boucher pin that I saw once.

Thank you for sharing my earrings Brenda. I truly appreciate it. I loved participating in challenge. These challenges really make me think outside the box and not just keep repeating what I already know. They help me learn and push me to go outside of my comfort zone. Thank you for being such a great mentor.
